I suffer from this. Recently someone told me, "Don't think of "problems" in the extreme sense. A problem to solve could be as simple as increasing efficiency of something by 1%."

That reminds me of Star Trek TNG Geordi boosted the engine efficiency 1% or so. Data asked why he is working on the engines Geordi says the engineer on another starship had his engines at something like 95%.
