In which EU country starting a company is the easiest and cheapest for people that are not residents of this country?
- ghock 10y agoUK probably. But resident requirements for starting companies are somewhat rare these days. Getting a bank account or sorting out your taxes is another story though.
- mixedbit 10y agoI've heard that to start a company in UK, a UK bank account is required, and it is pretty difficult for non-residents to get.
- hanoz 10y agoYou heard wrong. There's no requirement for a UK company, or its directors or shareholders, to have a bank account of any kind.
- ggregoire 10y agoCan you explain how it works without a "uk business account"? I've done researches this week and didn't find any answers. e.g. can I use my personal basic French bank account? -- Not sure also how you get out the money from your company to make you a salary. In France we have 2 forms of company for starting a personal business and with both you can use your personal account so basically company income = your salary. I read that with a limited company you can't do that.
- daghandler 10y agoTo start a UK company, it is not necessary. To be in line with accounting compliance requirements, you need to be able to issue invoices from a UK company bank account. In order to obtain that, you need management to be based in the UK (i.e. be resident).
- xioxox 10y agoThis link claims it may be possible to open an account without UK management (e.g. with HSBC), but I'm no expert here: https://www.rapidformations.co.uk/blog/business-bank-accounts-for-non-uk-residents/ https://www.rapidformations.co.uk/blog/business-bank-account...
- DrJokepu 10y agoProbably the United Kingdom. It costs £15 (about $21) and can be done online in 15 minutes. Your company will need a UK address though (which can be obtained easily from any of the "virtual office" businesses).
- return0 10y agoCyprus and Malta are popular for internet companies.
- ghock 10y agoTrue, not very easy though (if you want the benefits at least).
- tormeh 10y agohttp://www.doingbusiness.org/rankings http://www.doingbusiness.org/rankings Rank by "Starting a Business". Looks like it's Lithuania. Denmark wins overall, but that includes things like property and electricity that you may not care about. Sweden and the UK are also not bad. And holy shit Germany and Austria do badly in this ranking when it comes to starting a business!
- phillc73 10y agoConsider Ireland. Initial setup costs might be a little more onerous and expensive than the UK, but can still essentially be completed easily online. The benefit with Ireland is that corporate tax is only 12.5%, compared to 20% in the UK.[0] [0] https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tax_rates_of_Europe https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tax_rates_of_Europe
