How Western aid enables graft addiction in Ukraine
- trhway 11y agoA data point - Russia does the same total corruption without international aid. May be it isn't about aid?
- Mikeb85 11y agoUkraine's corruption is far more pervasive. It's a robber culture. Putin has been pragmatic in the sense of greasing some people and cracking down on others to at least try form a cohesive, functioning country. What should really be stated is that corruption is among the most difficult of problems to eliminate. If you crack down too hard, you get massive capital flight, or they fight back. Too little, and the country doesn't function.

- trhway 11y agothis is why i said "total corruption" - not the best choice of words, yet i meant that in Russia and Ukraine all depths and kinds ("faces" one can say) of corruption are present everywhere through the society.
