Fort Mac is really a boom town and it's my understanding that most of the residents of Fort Mac are employed directly or indirectly by oil & gas. Production will certainly be hurting in that area for a while to come.
- beenswervin 10y agoYup. Canadian dollar is being hurt by this too
- madaxe_again 10y agoEveryone seems to be either not considering or unaware of the tar sands relationship with the fire - surely ripping up millions of hectares of vegetation, which helps drive rainfall, has had some impact towards the severity of the fire.
