Could kind of equate it to elections. It's essentially a huge nationwide poll. If the people they wanted to vote's choice wasn't good enough for them to name the boat Boaty McBoatface, then who's to stop the US government from thinking "ya, know what? We want Trump anyway." and throw the votes out? Far fetched I agree, but that's the message being sent. That being said, I'm happy with their choice.
