It seems like every online generation needs to learn the lesson that established systems of decisionmaking are there for a reason. That way they always transition from "everybody can come in, everybody can participate, everything is transparent, we're completely free in all decisions, let's create a new world" to "ok yeah we live in an existing world with rules and social order and we need to somehow reflect that in digital form just as well. sorry!".
