Ask HN: Software industry sector with small amounts of configuration
What are the less configuration industry sectors? I.e. which sectors
tend to be more about writing software using libraries and crafting
one's own source as opposed to configuring tools?
For an example, for distributed systems the following technologies
crop up often enough:
+ Docker
+ CoreOS
+ Vagrant
+ httpd/nginx
+ Openstack
+ Kubernetes
+ AWS
as well as possibly Puppet, Chef, Saltstack or OpenStack.
Using most of the aforementioned technologies is configuring them
in a config file.
Where (within the industry) should those more interested on creating
new solutions by hand look?
