I'm still not convinced of "Google Infrastructure for Everyone Else". Google built Google's infrastructure because that is what Google needed. Your CRUD app probably doesn't need that.
- ownagefool 10y agoTrue, but if you're hosting 52 crud apps, it becomes very appealing.
- georgebarnett 10y agoIt's arrogant to assume that evrybody who wants this shouldn't need it because their need are simple. I know of very few places that have a single CRUD app. But hey, maybe not everybody needs this; there are a huge number of people who do though and they benefit immensely.
- bbrazil 10y agoSpeaking for Prometheus, it scales down quite well. If anything it's probably easier to run at the smaller scales. That's not true for many other Google technologies. We do assume that you have your house in order configuration management wise. That's something you may not already have yet at the smaller scales, in which case you may encounter friction as we're not going to add features just to allow you to ignore the need for good configuration management.
