I think you're reading something I didn't write. The point isn't to condoning these governments' behavior. I'm just pointing out that the fact that people are systematically altering their online behavior because the government has the ability to look at their activity just reeks of culturally induced inflated sense of self importance. Hopefully that makes a bit more sense =)
