Mail order condoms was common long before the web was popularized.
- gambiting 11y agoYes, but you still had to get them shipped home, where parents would ask you what you've ordered. Now with amazon it takes 3 clicks, and you can get them delivered to a drop-off location anywhere(at least here in UK I can get amazon parcels delivered to a nearby corner shop for example).
- Chronic51 11y agoMost teens do not have a credit card or access to their parents' on Amazon.
- gambiting 11y agoI had a debit card that could be used online when I was 13, with my own account, and that was 15 years ago. I know debit cards are not as popular in the US, but I'm fairly certain 13 year olds can have them nowadays.
- throwanem 11y agoDebit cards are extremely popular in the US; every checking account by default comes with one, which can be used in any ATM or till that can process transactions on either a credit or a debit network. It is by far the most common means of paying for purchases, and has been so since the advent of the capability. (And, yes, we're getting chip-and-PIN now, too.) I didn't get my first checking account (and bank card, which only worked in ATMs) until I attained legal majority and started my first adult job, but that was quite a few years ago now. I would be entirely unsurprised to learn that many, many teenagers today have bank accounts and debit cards of their own, even if it's only their allowance that gets deposited there.
- rmc 11y agoYou can buy a prepaid amazon gift card. Or a prepaid credit card.

- rmc 11y agoAnd it'll come in a generic Amazon box. Buy a few DVDs and condoms. You can tell your parents about the DVDs. Better than a box from "Condoms R Us", or a generic box, which will still require explaination. An amazon box requires no extra explaination
- DanBC 11y agoThe UK has some free condom services, and these will be available to teens. http://www.nhs.uk/Service-Search/Free%20condoms/LocationSearch/732 http://www.nhs.uk/Service-Search/Free%20condoms/LocationSear... Teens could get a range of contraception, for free, often without their parent's knowledge. The rules about whether a child has capacity to make their own decisions around medical procedures - Gillick Competency - is named after Victoria Gillick, who didn't children to be prescribe contraceptive pill without the parent's knowledge. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Victoria_Gillick https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Victoria_Gillick
