- bobwaycott 10y agoGlad I wasn't the only one noticing and wondering that.
- DannyBee 10y agoOften the answer to these kind of things is mundane, and comes down to "large companies are large"
- danso 10y agoI wonder if it's a sign that they believe the framework will necessarily spawn related, self-contained projects. Just as Rails has its own organization with dozens of plugins (and separate repos for documentations) as opposed to it being basecamp/rails...though I suppose the analogy isn't quite accurate since Rails is its own community and not marketed as a product maintained by Basecamp. Or maybe this is a sign that Apple wants Carekit to be less monolithic, such that they've removed the explicit Apple branding to encourage developers? The answer to these kind of things are often mundane...but when it comes to marketing and branding, the thinking process behind the eventual decision is both mundane and time-intensive
- untog 10y agoHeh, that was my thought too. "Because it was taking forever to get someone to make me a new repo"
- Fomite 10y ago"And by someone, I mean Jim."
- downvotemyjokes 10y agoDammit Jim!
- ecesena 10y agoSame first thought... it also pretty scared me, especially given the sensitivity of the subject
- matt4077 10y agoMore scary than closed-source software? Also: is there any chance this would survive >24h if it weren't authorized? It's even possible they created this to further isolate write access from the rest of the company.
- bentruyman 10y agoThis is similar to how ResearchKit also has its own GitHub organization: https://github.com/ResearchKit https://github.com/ResearchKit
