Call me cynical but to me, Facebook's mission is to get the whole planet to create a Facebook account and track them so they can be served ads.
- gear54rus 10y agoYeah, exactly, lies as always. Coupled with the comment below about having to login. Another corporate bs from that guy, moving right along. Though I do recommend watching 'The Social Network' (2010) movie, probably the best thing he has to do with (even though indirectly).
- 746F7475 10y agoOne could argue that this is just a byproduct of the actual goals. If everyone is more open, then "being open should be the norm", which means that you don't care that you get targeted ads, in fact you love that advertisers can show you all the cool stuff you "care" about.
