Awesome. This reminds me of the recent changes to the OCaml compiler (flambda). If it's anything similar, can't wait for the performance improvements from this (which can hopefully continue bringing Rust up to C speed).

In general, if Rust is significantly slower than equivalent C, it's a bug. Please file them if you find them.
