Ask HN: Most Appropriate Time-Series Database

Some Information: - I'll be storing 1K samples at 8KHz. Each sample is 1 bit to 2 bytes. - Data will be coming in via a UDP stream, hard-line connection (not Internet) - I need to be able to define queries based on session parameters, where sessions are a combination of samples to pull and start/end time. For example, "pull all the samples from these 12 streams from this 4 minute time period within this 1 TB Db." - Should be friendly to data-mining apps. - I'll need to integrate a visualization package, ideally browser/HTML5 based. - Want no-charge, open-source package. Any suggestions or comments are greatly appreciate.
