Why should I be interested in this - given there are many free high quality implementations for Scheme like Racket, Gambit etc?

      Look at Clinger's benchmarks for Larceny.

    What kind of compiler technology? I've seen it mentioned that it uses a nanopass design, but that's more of a development strategy than something that results in performant code or low compile times.
