If by people you mean women, then yes.
You don't seem able to say exactly why you find this so hard to believe. Could it be that your experiences are limited?
- gozur88 10y agoIt could be. Probably not, at my age, but you never know. More likely, the people reading this and assuming the root of the whole thing is, incredibly, a woman who's being attacked for doing a good job (and not being a tax collector or similar government functionary) are simply credulous.
- tomlock 10y agoSo the older a person is, the more their experience is likely correct? Turns out a lot of old people (the majority) oppose gay marriage. Do you feel like they are right? Since there seem to be some people who believe the account in this article and others that don't, what in your mind is the experience that people have been exposed to that changes their minds? It seems like you're saying they are purely irrational. Do you have any evidence which suggests that? I'm really interested because so far you've provided no content to suggest why someone should join you in your incredulity.
- wjagodfrey 10y agoRight. Seriously Gozur, what experience are you going on? Listen to yourself man. "I don't think women get harassed for being women." That's utter bullshit. They do get harassed for it. Their gender. Nothing more. I've worked in the industry for over a decade, and women are never treated equally. They are never well represented. They are always judged more harshly than men are. No matter what your age, you need an education.
- GFK_of_xmaspast 10y agoWait hold on a second here, are you saying being 'a tax collector or similar government functionary' is grounds for being attacked.
- gozur88 10y agoObviously not. But it might be a reason.
- tomlock 10y agoThe article states its reasoning, you choose not to accept it. What reasons would you accept?
- gozur88 10y agoWhat I would "accept" is irrelevant. All I'm saying is the reason the author provided is literally incredible.
- tomlock 10y agoIf you think the reason is incredible, it is precisely your incredulity and the reasons for it that are in question. Even if reason is a concept that is outside of human control, you're still attempting to apply it to this article. It is necessarily channeled through you when you comment on this situation. What you accept is relevant.
