Agreed. Altruism is rarely ever a bad thing. The issue is balancing the time requirements for charitable ventures and those for personal advancement.

Agreed. Altruism is rarely ever a bad thing. The issue is balancing the time requirements for charitable ventures and those for personal advancement.
- ohashi 17y agoCan we be honest for a second, it's almost never true altruism when you meet with someone to talk. I've been on both sides and in either case you almost always have some sort of potential benefit from it. That person might lead you to something good just as much as you might lead them to something good. I don't know everyone they know or everything they've done (if I did, I probably wouldn't be talking to them).
