When I think of "Apocalypse" I'm thinking something a little more permanent than an earthquake. As long as there's an end in sight (i.e., it will eventually be going back to normal) people are going to act a lot differently. It's when it truly looks hopeless that I'd expect to see the movie style looting and violence.

The water filtration shut off so all the city's water was declared possibly contaminated and the gas pumps were off so if you needed gas to get to water there was none. People realized the last clean source of water was bagged ice and started forming mobs banging on the locked doors of convenience stores. I saw people siphoning other people's gas. Basically all hell broke loose. The kicker? The power was only out for 6 hours. When people are scared it doesn't take long.
