Arduino has become a generic term referring to anything that can be programmed by the arduino ide. It happens to be the largest development community in the world for 8 bit microcontrollers. It only makes sense that people who want to give their projects maximum visibility would use arduino, and not genuino. The top comments in threads about genuino would just be people talking about the name dispute, not the actual project.
