I wonder if Uber will ever offer a programmatic courier service. It seems like the "Uber for X" companies will struggle to make money if they have to maintain their own delivery fleet, and tapping into a large pool of Uber drivers could allow smaller companies to auto-scale their business just like with cloud compute.
- regnet 10y agouber's fleet should transport people. their food services are pretty awful as they try to get their drivers to actually deliver items. it's best that they stick to what they are good at.
- strictnein 10y agoWouldn't Amazon's same day delivery "fleet" be better suited for something like that?
- cortesoft 10y agoUber is a many points to many points system..... Amazon's same day fleet is a one point to many points system, so they have different capabilities.
