- dsp1234 10y agoFTA: The JMA measurements go back to 1891 and show that every one of the past 11 months has been the hottest ever recorded for that month.
- philliphaydon 10y agoI wonder how the results would look if we used the same tools for those 100years. No doubt more accurate ways of measuring temp only skew results.
- wang_li 10y agoIt doesn't help that the official US temperature record has been adjusted and readjusted to make the past cooler.
- jessaustin 10y agoThat was for science!
- hackuser 10y agoI wonder if there is a Conspiracy Theory of Gravity, similar to the Conspiracy Theory of Climate Change. There's this, I suppose: http://wiki.tfes.org/Gravity http://wiki.tfes.org/Gravity
- Zuider 10y agoThis particular Flat Earth Society is a satirical group where they entertain themselves with ingenious rationalizations such as the one you linked to. I wouldn't imagine that there is a single true believer among them.
- epimetheus 10y agoApril is looking promising. It was 86F yesterday in Western WA. Some places hit 90+ - Record high. Today and tomorrow look to be 80+ here too. First time Seattle will have three days of 80+ weather in April since records began. Cliff Mass thinks it'll be better than last summer though: http://cliffmass.blogspot.com/2016/04/the-warmest-april-day-in-seattle-history.html http://cliffmass.blogspot.com/2016/04/the-warmest-april-day-...
- mikestew 10y agoIt's not just record highs that are breaking the records by a few degrees, it's that the records are being broken by 10F. It's one thing to have a warm snap, quite another to take it to a whole new level. I mean, 80s is something SEA might see for a few days in July. Well, used to be, anyway. Yeah, yeah, weather!=climate; sit down, Captain Pedantic, I'm making a point here. As one who has walked this earth for over 50 years, I've observed that records of course are broken fairly regularly, but not with the frequency I see recently. Seems like every week I wake up to a new record, whether it's monthly, seasonal, or just today. It's a trend? Is climate change real? Dunno, not a climate scientist. But it sure seems like things are getting warmer, not just today, but generally.
- tremon 10y agoDutch sources say this is the 11th record-hottest month in a row. edit: source appears to be http://www.noaa.gov/11th-straight-month-globe-was-record-warm http://www.noaa.gov/11th-straight-month-globe-was-record-war...
