Because "tech people" aren't always the best at judging consumer tastes. I thought the iPad was going to be a failure, because I considered (and consider) the tablet form factor to offer a worse usability/portability tradeoff than laptops.
- karmajunkie 11y agoI'll be the first to admit (and have, on many many occasions!) I have no idea what the average consumer sentiment is. When the original iPod came out I thought it was going to flop (mainly because the internal hard drive platters were prone to failure when jogging.) I stick to B2B/enterprise startups whenever I can for this very reason.
