Isn't using hustle as a term for hard work pretty common in sports teams? Like, a coach might tell his team "Good hustle" for working hard. I think you're kind of right though in that in the tech industry it feels like it means a little of both aspects depending on context.
- marincounty 10y agoIt is, but since we all watch, listen to so much media, the meaning of words changes faster than I want to keep up with. I think hustle is fine, but I wouldn't to use in in a business related field these days. All those Rap song lyrics come out a weird times? The big rapper, who smokes too much pot, and used to be a correctional officer, while is having anxiety attacks form smoking too much pot, had a big song. All I remember is "I gotta always be hustling". Insinuating this Rapper need to break laws daily in order to survive. I did like the song though. Forget the rapper's name.
