Julia is getting plenty of attention. It's pretty obvious at this point that Julia is destined to eventually be a major player in some fields. The main problem facing the language is maturity. That will come with time. Until it has fully stabilised, has a mature runtime, has a mature library ecosystem, and has strong debug and post-mortem tooling, it is not something everyone should use.
