You have to get a bit more creative here. I'm having success with cold e-mailing early founders who are not looking for data scientists then tell them what data science can do for them. Or apply to their "full stack web developer that is really just frontend" jobs and then be so good that they can't refuse. There are not enough remote data science jobs to build a board around them. If you want one, you pretty much have to create your own job.
