I enjoyed the time I've spent so far with TIS. My takeaway wasn't so much about programming assembly, though, as much as managing pipelines and concurrency. It reminded me a lot more of the work I did with software-configurable processors in the early 2000s than any of the 8-bit assembly I did back in the 80s.
