Show HN: Put Dat – upload and share datasets
- danvoell 10y agoNice work putdat! I've seen a few of these lately and then I don't see them again. I feel like there has to be some sort of long term tactic employed so that you don't get run down seeking out and putting up data all by yourself. Right now I don't see any reason to upload my own datasets. For instance, could you require that in order to download unlimited data, they need to upload at least one data set? Just throwing it out there.
- putdat 10y agoThanks! Anyone is free to use Put Dat without creating an account. Once a dataset is uploaded, it can be downloaded as a file or accessed programmatically (e.g. for web-based visualizations). Each dataset is indexed to allow quick previews of content as well as slicing and dicing. We also enrich the dataset with metadata such as column stats in order to help users get an even better idea of what's inside, which is particularly useful when dealing with millions of rows.
