  The parallax was a bit too much for me though. I ended up opening the console and pausing the javascript.

    They didn't do pure CSS parallax? I guess in this case it's for the best, but generally that's Doing It Wrong.

  Glad you like it, but I actually stopped reading the article due to the atrocious typography and gimmicks. Those shadows behind the asides that move as you move your mouse are extremely distracting, and they overlap with the body text. For the body font they depend on users having Helvetica or Arial installed to render (neither of which I have) instead of using @font-face, so the text looks out of place. Also, none of the background images loaded for me until I tried with a browser without ad-blocker and third-party tracking protection.

    I'm using noscript so it looks fine to me, the site's a bit broken though but that's fine by me, if you have FireFox you could always try "Reader View" to read the article without all the glitter.

      It would actually be a nice feature if I could add certain domains to a "reader view" list in the browser, so that they always use that view directly. Medium, The Verge, all those giant blown up designs would be much more readable.
