When guns are outlawed, only outlaws will have guns.
- bjt2n3904 10y agoAha! You caught wind of my subterfuge.
- bossmojoman 10y agoWhen subterfuge is outlawed, only wind will be..... I got nuthin'
- chx 10y agoWhen guns are outlawed, only lawmen and outlaws will have guns. Good. That's the state of affairs in every developed country except one and it's demonstrably better in every way.
- abfan1127 10y agoexcept for all of these demonstrable ways: http://www.amazon.com/More-Guns-Less-Crime-Understanding/dp/0226493660 http://www.amazon.com/More-Guns-Less-Crime-Understanding/dp/...
- loup-vaillant 10y ago(Dunno what's in the book) I hear hand guns in particular are quite accident prone. Even if there's less crime, we might still have more deaths.
- abfan1127 10y agoI'd check your sources. Hand Guns are no more accident prone than long guns.
- loup-vaillant 10y agoWell, it was hearsay anyway. Not reliable at all.
- Retric 10y agoNot if you adjust for usage. On average people use Long guns more than hand guns.
- Retric 10y agoThat sounds like a totally unbiased source! PS: I have actually been paid to look into crime statistics. Guns are bad, really really bad. But, you can twist statistics to say the sky is orange if you want to.
- lostapathy 10y agoTry reading the book. The author is a journalist who set out to build a case against guns and this book holds the facts he found. He came into it with a bias but still ended up with the opposite book from his intentions, due to honest research.
- omginternets 10y agoDon't pretend like that's a peer-reviewed source.
- logfromblammo 10y agoYou may not have realized that your statement is ambiguous between the state of affairs and the sole exception. Either way you meant it, that is your individual belief based upon your own preferences, and there are literally millions of people who would disagree with you on this particular point. If there were no exceptions, where would all those dissenters go?
- schwap 10y ago> That's the state of affairs in every developed country except one Not even close to factual.
