I am currently running Ubuntu 16.04 4.4.0-8 kernel which works fine. The ubuntu backport of i915 from 4.6 to 4.4 which is present in 4.4.0-9 causes weird video issues. (upstream bug: https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=94593 https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=94593)
- pritambaral 11y agoOnly the ultra-low-power chips (U and Y series) are susceptible to damage from poor power management.
