Yep, but you can disable it by disabling the 'metrics' extension.
- spdustin 11y agoThat's _after_ the first launch, correct?
- cha5m 11y agoCouldn't you just disconnect from the web until Atom was installed and metrics are disabled?
- CyberDildonics 11y agoThis is why I set windows firewall to disable connections by default and then opt programs in. Visual Studio tries to connect to the internet too.
- Couto 11y agoNot necessarily. You can set the property in your ~/.atom/config.cson before the first run. https://github.com/Couto/.dotfiles/blob/master/tag-atom/atom/config.cson#L11-L12 https://github.com/Couto/.dotfiles/blob/master/tag-atom/atom... in case you need an example
- zuck9 11y agoIt auto launches after installing in Windows.
- spdustin 11y agoExample is appreciated, but not accessible. I personally use Little Snitch and stopped Atom from phoning back to Google Analytics, as I do with all the apps I use, but the comment I was replying to seemed to be shrugging off the data collection by saying "just turn it off" when the truth for most people is "it'll do it at least once but you can turn it off later"
- yitchelle 11y agoSo the metrics collection is ON by default?
