i love youtube-dl. i've been interested in doing the same with soundcloud, but i have no idea how to go about learning how their streaming works. any advice for where to start?
- insin 10y agoSome useful hints here: https://github.com/rg3/youtube-dl/blob/master/youtube_dl/extractor/soundcloud.py https://github.com/rg3/youtube-dl/blob/master/youtube_dl/ext...
- lozf 10y agoSoundcloud is on the list of supported sites for youtube-dl and has worked perfectly for quite a while (unless Soundcloud broke something in the last few months).
- ngokevin 10y agoI first added Soundcloud support to youtube-dl when I was in college. Good times!
- goldenrules 10y agothanks! i must have glossed over that when i first discovered youtube-dl. like countless others before, i found out how to do the one thing i needed to and ignored the rest of the tool's utility.
- looknee 10y agoI actually have a small node program that downloads your entire Favorites collection by just providing your username as a command line argument if you or anyone's interested
- nathanasmith 10y agoUm, I'd be interested!
