I am perceived to be part of the problem. Not attacking, just commenting: maybe rephrase? I'm similar to you but despite background / origin we're still part of the problem. We are rich enough to live in the mission and shop at bi-rite and we displace poorer folks (who, as you observed, are often from ethnic minorities, with backgrounds different from ours). Having come from modest beginnings doesn't make us less the problem. That said, I think it does help to make us more aware of how unfair the system is.
