Is it particularly surprising that a company broadcasting primarily to the USA would focus more on its participants? For the average American watching sports they know little about, with participants they've never heard of, it helps if there is something they can grab onto to maintain interest, such as rooting for their home country. With that said, the other complaints this article raises I agree with.
