- jholman 11y agoBigger guys like Stripe have huge anti-fraud departments, using a variety of techniques, including but not limited to machine learning, allowing them to derive results like this themselves, in near-real-time.
- URSpider94 11y agoI would not assume that they are doing it well. Stripe and their customers reportedly got taken to the cleaners over hundreds of thousands of dollars of fraudulent hoverboard purchases earlier this year. Caveat vendor.
- voiper1 11y agoStripe says they do flag some charges fraudulent, but it isn't their main business. Here they mention some tips https://support.stripe.com/questions/avoiding-fraud-and-disputes https://support.stripe.com/questions/avoiding-fraud-and-disp... and also point to SiftScience, Signifyd or Riskified. SiftScience seems the most similar to simility, and give pricing online (free lite version or full for 5-6 cents) per order. Riskified and Signifyd actually provide insurance (and then perhaps have lower approval rating since they actually take risk?) I'm planning on trying SiftScience in the future.
