Sad as this is, realize that the cheap mechanical locks it replaced weren't much better. The attacks aren't necessarily harder, just different and more familiar to us. Bumping and picking can be pretty trivial to people well-versed in locksmithing just like obvious vulnerabilities are trivial to those of us well-versed in software.
