Perhaps controversially, I'd say this is one of the biggest problems facing the world today (ie. inaccessible research papers).
Where is the real money and influence that we need in order to change this?

- return0 11y agoIt's a political issue really. Universities should require publication ONLY to non-profit publishers. Requiring "Open access" doesn't really cut it, because the publishers just charge more for open access. And at the very least, there should be a large initiative to change from publishing papers to a more sane , modern and orderly cataloguing of scientific data.
