So long as we're all obsessed with job security, technological progress will slow to a crawl. I know a few people who've successfully outsourced things, mainly factory work. But they designed their process around outsourcing to capture part of the subsidy offered for it. Those who tried to offshore existing systems weren't so lucky. I've read of cases where it's worked out, though.
