The immediate issue I see with Programming IA is that it doesn't apparently address changes in coding syntax and support as programming languages evolve. PL's often evolve so much that, in my experience of just trying to get a leg up on, say, python, I've had to sort through changing features between Python 2.7 and Python 3 to such an extent that it can be genuinely frustrating at times.
