    Not when compared with languages that have modules. In 2000 I worked on a project where "make clean all" would take 1 hour per platform/build type.

      Oh I meant in execution, not build time.

        Similarly, I remember the days when junior Assembly programmers were able to outperform C compilers for home computers.
