Hipchat's downtime is atrocious.
- shlant 11y agoexactly the reason we moved to Slack
- balls187 11y agoIt's iOS app is also trash.
- x0x0 11y agoandroid too I never see the slack app in my top battery users; I saw the hipchat app in the top battery users all the time before I uninstalled the app. I don't leaving it running for work, but not at the expense of 10-15% of my battery.
- mrweasel 11y agoPeople keep saying that, but I can't remember the last time Hipchat was down.
- dberg 11y agoIts literally been down 3 times in the last week https://status.hipchat.com/ https://status.hipchat.com/
- mrweasel 11y agoWeird, maybe their infrastructure doesn't scale well and only goes down when the US is at work? Sadly there's no time stamps on their status page, so I can't tell. It could be similar to people complaining that Reddit or Imgur is down or unstable, but that mostly happens to Americans. So Europeans get the benefit of an overbuilt infrastructure, because the companies try to scale to the load generated by Americans.
- modoc 11y agoUnfortunately it's been down, or unusable, a TON in the last few weeks.
