Is this an attempt by Mono to battle Microsoft's open source Roslyn compiler and upcoming cross platform '.net core' I wonder? Those two technologies could make Mono irrelevant in the future.
- Vespasian 11y agoNot very likely since Mono is developed by Xamarin which was recently acquired by Microsoft ;)
- nickpsecurity 11y agoI was worried they'd lock the stuff up more. This is a really, pleasant surprise.
- TelAviv 11y agoI sure hope so! I love .net, but we won't use Mono for political reasons (which are now complicated because of Microsoft's acquisitions.) But until De Icaza is no longer involved, we will not use it.
