The main takeaway is that motivation has two components, Incentives and Confidence. I could offer you a million dollars to paint a realistic portrait of me, but if you haven't touched paint since kindergarten, you're not going to finish that portrait. Similarly, you might have the skill to code my next iphone app for me, but you're not going to unless I offer you some kind of payment. (Please feel free to correct me on this one.) Understanding what incentivizes you and where you're lacking confidence (knowledge, feedback, self-confidence) will help you understand why you're not motivated to complete your projects.
