the bottom diagram shows that it provides internet access (wireless, ethernet....bluetooth?)
- dangrossman 17y agoIt is an entire PC, not some kind of network device, though you can certainly use a PC as various kinds of network devices. Think of it as taking the innards of a netbook computer with no screen and putting them in as compact a space as possible, with integrated power cord. It's a netbook you plug directly into the wall. Since it has no video adapter, you control it over the network, just like how you'd control most servers. You SSH or remote desktop in to it. That's why it has all kinds of network support built in -- so you can plug it in the wall wherever is convenient and have it join your wireless, wired, or bluetooth network.
- icefox 17y agoThere are some usb/video options out there. Attaching a small low power lcd could give you some interesting possibilities.
- jws 17y agoI think Marvell would like solutions vendors to sell their solutions in a sheevaplug. I can see the attraction, if there is enough horsepower it is better to be in a system you control rather than depending on some sys admin to keep a host set up correctly for you.
- suraj 17y ago[Plug Computing Wiki](http://www.plugcomputer.org/plugwiki/index.php/Main_Page http://www.plugcomputer.org/plugwiki/index.php/Main_Page) does a good job of explaining its use. If you are keeping a PC running as server for any reason (torrent, web serving, music streaming, etc.) you can replace it with sheva plug. It is much more like a headless server than a router. I had been waiting for it to get wireless connection. Now I just have to wait till it is available in India :(
