You're confusing Volvo with Volkswagen.
- Swizec 11y agoWhich just goes to show the real impact of that PR disaster -> none. People can't even remember correctly which of the 3 or 4 largest car brands in the world it was.
- PhasmaFelis 11y agoTheir stock price dropped by like 40% in a few days. I think that trumps "one person on the internet got a name confused."
- BBlarat 11y agoI'm not following Volkswagon stocks, but did they bounce back up after a while or are they stuck in a down? If they're still down than yes that trumps, but if it got back up after a while I guess some people made loads of money on this debacle but VW seems unharmed.
- dagw 11y agoThey bounced back a bit, but they're still more than 20% off what they where the day before the scandal broke and att almost half of their 12 month peak.
- Nutmog 11y agoThat's not obvious at all. Their share price has now recovered half way to where it was, so you should call that a 20% drop when comparing to what people remember today (not the few days after news broke). Not only that, it was already in an even bigger decline during the year leading up to the emissions scandal, and that decline instantly stopped. Compared to the pre-scandal trend, you could almost argue that their share price has improved since the scandal.
