A good summary on the differences between DeepBlue and AlphaGo, and one that recognizes the latter is part of a broader trend of successful applications of deep neural networks. I thought this was pretty well written and accurate.
- michael_nielsen 11y agoThanks. It's for a general audience, so I gloss over many details, but tried to do so in a way that remains broadly accurate. The Monte Carlo tree search, in particular, involves many finnicky details that I couldn't get into in this kind of essay.
