- bigger_cheese 11y agoThe coverage of the last world championship between Carlsen and Anand in 2014 was excellent. GM Peter Svidler and Sopiko Guramishvili provided live commentary, it struck a good balance between light hearted and serious. I'm not a hardcore Chess fan but I do like to watch the larger tournaments when I have the chance.
- billforsternz 11y agoAs a chess lover, I find live coverage of chess at all speeds compelling. If I have any preference it is for the slower games, because then you almost always have time to make your own reasoned judgments - i.e. guess the next move is more meaningful. Good expert commentary will entertainingly fill any deadspots - ironically a common problem is that the experts get so deeply engaged in "what might happen?" that they frustratingly don't notice when the players have made a move.

- bitJericho 11y agoHaving never watched a chess tournament live nor televised, I was curious about this exact detail and got an opinion on both sides too. Not all feedback has to be positive or even that constructive.
