The thing that's a bit absurd about all this is that there doesn't seem to be any reasonable, non-abusable way of creating tools that can both be general-purpose and still not used to create weapons.
I for one would not accept limitations on any sort of manufacturing device that would prevent it from building things of type A but not type B when it is otherwise mechanically possible to do so.
- pdkl95 11y agoThat's the core premise of freedom. Giving people freedom necessarily incudes giving them the freedom to do things that are stupid or dangerous.
