Many of the benefits we have today in the "first world" come from people demanding a fairer share of the resources being allocated. Charities don't fill in the huge gaps that leave people drinking toilet water or eating food you wouldn't feed a dog. Saying it could be worse is not a good excuse to ignore inequality.
- merpnderp 11y agoI'd say that is wrong and the benefits of the industrialized world come from people being freer to exchange goods and services without direct interference of the government and with fair protections from the law. S. Korea didn't outperform N. Korea, Taiwan didn't outperform China, and W. Germany didn't outperform E. Germany because their people demanded a fairer distribution of resources.
