Were those her exact words? I thought therapists weren't supposed to be directly confrontational? It sounds like the satirical doctor who when a patient says "It hurts when I do this." responds, "Then don't do that." If a psychiatrist trivialized my feelings like that I'd be asking for a new doctor, and perhaps who I can complain to about her poor performance. Or is not acquiescing to a physician considered unhealthy anti-authoritarian behavior?
